Traumatic-Brain-Injury.net is a connection page to the comprehensive web based brain injury resources provided by the Brain Injury Law Group, Attorney Gordon S. Johnson, Jr.
Our web based brain injury resources includes detailed information, essays, and graphics about traumatic brain injury and coma as a result of brain injury.
We are Advocates: I, Gordon Johnson, make my living as advocate and an attorney. But advocacy to me is more than being an attorney. It means dedicating meself to the brain injury community I serve - that being, the survivor, the family member of the survivor, the medical professional. Thus, I have created these pages to provide web based resources to help those who now need this information, learn and solve the problems they face.
Our Clients: My law practice is representing individuals who were injured as a result of the negligence and wrongful conduct of a third party.
We have had these web pages for more than 15 years. Over the years, many questions keep repeating themselves. What people primarily seek is:
We wrote waiting.com with the hope that this critical information would be a source for those waiting for someone they loved to wake up from a coma.
This portion of our advocacy, http:/post-concussion-syndrome.com addresses concussion and its lingering effects in some, diagnosed as Post Concussion Syndrome. One purpose of this website is to correct misconceptions about Traumatic Brain Injury. A TBI or Post Concussion Syndrome can occur even without a loss of consciousness or a blow to the head. This page explains some of the technical aspects of science of Traumatic Brain Injury, as well as many of the real world aspects of brain injury.
The other area of focus is a specific treatment of the symptomatology of traumatic brain injury. It has long been thought is that coma injuries have specific focal deficits. The "a" and "dys" words of the TBI glossary (such as aphasia and dysphasia) are often used to describe these problems. Most of brain injury rehabilitation focus on treatment for the "a" and "dys" conditions. Yet, from the beginning of my advocacy, I have been struck by the paradox of the numerous miracles in severe brain injury cases, and the many many tragedies in the mild TBI cases. This paradox has motivated my research and writing and I have addressed many of those paradoxes throughout our treatment of brain injury symptomotology. The concussions that disable are more symptomatic after a day than at the 2-4 hour after injury, the time people are typically seen in an emergency room. Brain Injury or concussion symptoms escalate for 24 - 72 hours. It is important that those who have suffered a Brain Injury get medical treatment on the day after the injury. Below is a link to a series of concussion videos that I did, which I called the Concussion Clinic.
This site is brought to you by the advocates of the Brain Injury Law Group, a community of plaintiff's trial lawyers across the United States united by a common interest in serving the rights of persons with traumatic brain injuries and a common commitment to fully understanding the anatomic, medical and psychological aspects of TBI.
